Thanks for the Encouragement. . .

and the MOTIVATION!!! I really have appreciated everyone's encouragement as I navigate these unknown waters! Thanks to all of you professionals who are giving me facts. Thank you for all of you prayer warriors who are praying. Thank you for all you moms who are encouraging me! Thank you! I am anxious about our meeting today, but I feel more prepared to go in and fight to the point I need to fight and then to make some decisions if I hit a wall. My husband is in New York and won't be at the meeting which is a little overwhelming, but I'm going to stay calm (not cry), lift my head up, open my ears and my mind and hopefully work something out! I appreciate each on of you!!! I am humbled by your love from afar!!!

If they do decide to put him in Kindergarten it's not really holding him back.. Lincoln will be the exact same age as Tiki when he starts Kindergarten. When I was at preschool the other day and saw he was the smallest one in there it just made it more for sure to start him when he is 6!! God knows!! He will work it out!

I just read both posts back to back and I think you are being too hard on yourself. This is HUGE transition for you, Tiki, the Braner kids and his new teacher. No one can judge what he will be like in school after only 3 days. Going from an orphanage in a 3rd world country to a new family, in a new world for him on to public school is BIG. No one should forget that he had no idea what is going on and he is testing the waters.

They have to be patient with him and allow him the freedom to figure out what is right and wrong in school and work towards making good decisions. He will get there, but not in three days.

We considered homeschooling Graham this year. God closed that door, but I know if he had led us to do so, then he would have provided the abilities, discipline and patience to do it. He will do the same for you.

I just caught up on your two last posts. God is good to His people and He is going before you. When God is for you who can be against you!!! Saying a little prayer about the meeting and you all as you work through this time. I have some special info about what schools HAVE TO DO FOR YOU by law if you are interested or need empowered. Let me know if you need it.

hoping things went well today. loving the things you post about how great of big brother/sister hays and maggie are being to tiki. that is just awesome. you are awesome...and God has not left you out to dry. He'll provide His very best for tiki no matter what that is. His plan for him cannot be thwarted by men...tiki is so blessed to call you mommmy!

They Made It!!!!

This is Kelly blogging for Jamie,and I just got off the phone with her. After traveling for 44 hours, they finally made it. I'm overjoyed by the news that they were able to MEET Ruk for the first time pretty soon after they arrived as well, and everything went GREAT!!! Jamie says he is VERY small... even smaller than Dax, and that he is probably a size 4... WOW! Jamie says that all his teeth are coming in and is not the toothless guy we have seen photos of. She also said that he was very sweet and affectionate with her, and that he called her mommy already. This is a great sign as it shows he is open and ready for a family!!! Jamie was told that all day long he was chatting away that he was going to meet his mommy today! Sniff, sniff!!! Hays and Ruk hit it off real well too and didn't have any of that awkward and shy first time to meet you syndrome. A Little Bit Of News From The Land Of A Thousand Hills. . .

I heard from Tim, my POA, today. Here is what his email said: We had a brief meeting, superior nun and was busy but favorable to adoption. She is encouraged by your heart especially with a second adoption. We have rescheduled to meet Saturday morning to finalize choice of the child. I shared your preferences and they don't have any issue with it. They told me that I need to proceed carefully especially with regards to other kids staying at the orphanage who may not get the chance of being adopted. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a picture of the boy that you may adopt! So. . .I'm assuming that Saturday means tomorrow. I am a little nervous! I am actually a lot nervous, but am trying to minimize that feeling by reminding myself that God knows the perfect child for our family! I'll be praying today!!!!!

Recovering P31

What?  A recovering P31? Proverbs 31 describes the wife of noble character.  This wife gets up early and works hard all day long and isn't even tired when she finally retires from all of her work at night.  She is a servant to her husband and she makes him proud.  She is a fantastic mom and I'm sure, if there was Pinterest in the day, she would be the Pinterest-y-est of the moms.  She isn't afraid of hard work and she has the pantry stocked in the case of an emergency and she has her family ready for cold winters, famine and hard times.  She helps strangers and loved ones alike and she has her sights set beyond herself.  Her husband praises her and her children are grateful for her and call her blessed. Oh my gosh!  What a great lady!  I want to be like her!  So why am I a recovering P31 and why am I writing about it now when I'm not even a wife?
