Andy met with Jeanne Marie this morning. . .Africa. . .no real schedules. Anyway, he met with her and he said that she is great! (She is, I remember really liking her.)
We got our Letter of Approval!!! However, it wasn't generic. It was very specific. It said that the government of Rwanda is excited for our family to adopt again, but it must be from the specific orphanage listed in the letter. We knew this was a huge possibility.
Here is what the letter said:
Dear Sir and Madam
In response to your letter requesting for permission to adopt a Rwandan child. Considering the fact that you have submitted the required documents for that matter; I have the pleasure to inform you that after examining your documents, I have no objection to your request, and thus, you may now go ahead with the adoption procedures. You will however, have to respect all the legal requirements regarding adoption and particularly identifying the child in the Home of Hope Orphanage, managed by the Missionaries of Charity.
The best part of the whole thing is that Andy is there and he is fighting for us. That is the best news! He is going to fight for us! I love it that he is emotionally involved and that he is the one! I love it that I'm not the one because I feel like he is fighting on behalf of our family. I don't think I can explain it on my own.
He is going to Sonrise school on Wednesday. He has a meeting scheduled with Bishop John who is in charge of the school and who has MAJOR pull in the country of Rwanda. We are going to ask Bishop to help us get around the last paragraph that states the specific orphanage. We aren't giving up yet.
How am I? I am very sad and broken, but not destroyed. Knowing that Andy is over there fighting. . .I just don't feel like it is finished yet. And if it is, then we'll go from there (we have an Approval Letter)!!! But I'm not ready to accept that path yet!
Please continue to pray. None of this was a surprise, but a punch in the gut still hurts even if you know it was coming!

I also loved the update of all of the kiddos. It is so neat that Haze is sharing in the emotion of what Rwanda has been through.
