Cabo: Post I

We are having a blast in Cabo.  I am so thankful that my parents bring us here every Christmas and this year was extra special with THREE WEEKS (because airplane tickets were less than half if we traveled earlier).  So, four of my five came down with me a week early and we are loving it!!!

Point of View

I had a neat moment with my kids the other day while we were traveling and it was a great reminder to me of how point of view and optimism makes such a difference.  We were in a cab at the Houston airport and Dax said, "look at that big hole with the sign in it!"  Well, I couldn't see the hole or the sign, but for some reason, my mind immediately went to "do not enter" or "keep out" signs.  Not a big deal.  But at the same time, Gabby said, "it probably says, if you have a rope, just climb out!"  Her voice was so chipper and innocent and I realized immediately that I want her initial and immediate optimism.  Why did my mind go immediately to negative?  Why did her mind go immediately to positive.  And I don't think it is because she is naive or lacks worldly perspective.  So, that was my lesson of the day wake up call to try and be more optimistic.

BeBe & PaPa Day Three

Today was "Christmas Day" with BeBe and PaPa and it was perfect!  We started with a big breakfast followed by presents.  Then we had a big lunch followed by relaxing before out big sleigh ride!  It was a great day packed with Christmas cheer!!!

BeBe & PaPa Day Two

Tonight we painted!  It is a fun tradition we started last Christmas visit and I'm excited to have a house full of art by the time I am old and shriveled up!

BeBe & PaPa Day One

Austin, TX

I just ran to Austin for work (my new health and wellness company) and I had the best time with friends and family!  It was a quick trip and it was fun to get away!  I got to have dinner with my cousins and their kids.  I got to stay with my dear college friend, Tiffany and her family.  I got to reunite after 20 years with Kirsten and Kathleen and Mina.  There were tons of hugs and lots of laughing and smiling.  I'm so thankful I got to go!
